Privacy policy
Cookies and local storage
This site does not set cookies and has no login or comments. If you use the light/dark theme switch, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage on your device only; it is never sent to us.
Analytics
If analytics are enabled, we use a cookie-less, privacy-focused service (Plausible or Umami) that counts page views without identifying individual visitors. No advertising trackers are used.
Clicks on outbound links
When you click a “Visit” button, our server counts the click together with the page and the site language it came from. We do not store your IP address or browser details with these counts.
Tool submissions
If you submit a tool, we store the details you enter (tool name, website, your email address and message) to review the submission and to reply to you. Your email address is visible only to our editors and is never published.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to our weekly digest or to price alerts for a tool, your email address is stored only in our self-hosted newsletter service (Listmonk, on our own server). It is not stored in our content system and is never shared or sold. You confirm every subscription by email (double opt-in): until you confirm, we send you nothing else.
Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link and an unsubscribe header that your email app can use. You can ask us to delete your address at any time: support@agipicks.com. We count opens and clicks only in aggregate, never per subscriber. Emails are delivered through an email delivery provider that processes your address only to deliver them.
Quotes from public discussions
Some tool pages show short excerpts from public discussions about the tool (Hacker News, YouTube, X, Reddit, GitHub and blogs) in the block “What the community says”. Our editors select every excerpt by hand. For each one we store only the link to the original post, the author’s public username on that platform (never a real name or a profile photo), the date, the excerpt itself (at most 40 words) and our own labels for topic and tone. We do not build profiles, collect email addresses or follow anyone’s activity.
We rely on our legitimate interest in commenting on and reviewing software (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). The excerpts come from publicly available posts, not from you (GDPR Art. 14); because contacting every quoted author is impossible, we publish this notice instead (Art. 14(5)(b)). You can object to or ask us to remove an excerpt of yours at any time with “Report or request removal” under the block, or by writing to support@agipicks.com. We remove it within 7 days. Excerpts whose original post was deleted are removed when we re-check the links every week.
Embedded posts from X and Reddit and YouTube videos load from those platforms only after you click them; their own privacy policies then apply. YouTube data we receive through the YouTube API Services is refreshed or deleted after 30 days, and its use is subject to the Google Privacy Policy.
Hosting
The site is hosted as static files. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and user agent) for security and operations.
Affiliate links
When you click a link that starts with /go/, you are redirected to the vendor’s website. The vendor or its affiliate platform may set cookies to attribute a purchase to us. Their own privacy policies apply on their sites.
