What Arize AI does
Arize AI offers Arize AI, a managed platform for watching, testing and improving AI agents. Teams send traces from their agent or application, then use the platform to see what the agent did, run evaluations on spans, traces and sessions, and try changes through experiments. A feature called Signal looks through traces to flag issues, point to root causes and propose fixes that a person can review. Alyx is an in-app AI engineering agent that can run evals and debug problems when given a task.
The platform is built on OpenInference and OpenTelemetry standards, and the vendor lists more than 40 integrations with models, frameworks and AI tools. Arize also maintains Phoenix, an open-source option that can be run locally or self-hosted, while AX adds managed infrastructure.
Pricing has three tiers. AX Free costs $0, requires no credit card, and includes 25k spans per month, 1 GB of ingestion per month, 15 days of retention and 10 Signal issues per month. AX Pro costs $50 per month and raises this to 50k spans, 10 GB of ingestion, 30 days of retention and 25 Signal issues per month. Both include unlimited users and evals and run as SaaS. AX Enterprise is custom priced, with custom span, ingestion and retention limits, unlimited Signal, and a choice of SaaS or self-hosted deployment. Startup pricing is also offered.

- Signal flags issues and proposes fixes for review
- Open-source Phoenix is available for local or self-hosted use
Cons
- Free plan is capped at 25k spans per month and 15 days of retention
- Pro plan still caps spans at 50k per month and ingestion at 10 GB per month
- Self-hosted deployment is available only on Enterprise, which has no published price
- No annual billing price or free trial is shown on the pricing page
- Signal is limited to 10 issues per month on Free and 25 on Pro
Our take
Arize AI suits engineering teams that already run AI agents in production and want tracing, evaluations and experiments in one managed place. The free tier is useful for evaluating the workflow, though its 25k spans per month and 15-day retention are tight for heavy traffic. Pro is a flat $50 per month, but its limits are still modest, so busy teams may end up talking to sales for Enterprise. Self-hosting needs Enterprise; those who want a local, open-source route should look at Phoenix. The pricing page shows no yearly billing discount or trial.
