What Greptile does
Reviews pull requests with agents that use repository-wide context, flags bugs and rule violations, and can run PR branches in a sandbox.
Greptile is an AI code review tool that checks pull requests using context from the entire repository rather than only the changed lines. It builds a graph of the repo's files, functions and dependencies, then runs several agents in parallel to assess each change and flag issues. According to its homepage, it can learn a team's coding standards by reading engineers' earlier comments, and teams can write their own rules in plain English.
Beyond review comments, Greptile offers TREX, which runs the PR branch in a sandbox to look for bugs that only appear at runtime. It also connects to coding agents: issues can be sent to Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or Devin from the IDE, and a Greptile MCP and a Claude Code plugin share comment context with other agents. GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket and Cursor Origin are supported, with more providers on the Enterprise plan.
Pricing is credit based. The Starter plan is free for one active developer and includes 50 credits per month. The Pro plan has no seat fees: credits cost $1 each and are shared across the whole organization. A Base review uses 1 credit, a Plus review 3 credits and an Apex review 10 credits. Pro starts with a 14 day free trial. Enterprise has custom pricing and adds self-hosting, SSO and SAML, and role-based access control. The site also lists free usage for qualified open source projects and a startup discount.

Pros and cons
Pros
- Free Starter plan with 50 credits per month for one developer
- Pro has no seat fees; credits at $1 each are shared across the organization
- Reviews use a graph of the repository, not just the diff
- Custom rules can be written in plain English
- Self-hosting is available, including with Docker Compose or Kubernetes
Cons
- Starter is limited to 1 active developer
- Costs depend on review type: Base 1 credit, Plus 3, Apex 10

- Self-hosting, SSO and SAML are tied to the Enterprise plan
Our take
Greptile fits engineering teams that want automated pull request review with repository-wide context, and that are comfortable paying per review through credits instead of per seat. The free Starter plan helps a single developer try it, while the Pro trial suits a team. Teams in regulated settings can look at the self-hosted option on Enterprise. The trade-offs: costs scale with review volume and review depth, since Apex uses 10 credits against 1 for Base. Enterprise pricing is not published, and the pages do not state a monthly or yearly subscription price for Pro. Language support is full only for a listed set. We have not tested the product; this summary comes from the official pages.
