What Intercom Fin does
Answers customer support conversations and handles multi-step requests, connecting to outside systems, across channels such as email, chat, phone and Slack.
Fin is an AI customer agent that answers customer questions and carries out tasks across support, sales, ecommerce and customer success. It can sit on top of a helpdesk you already run, including Salesforce, Zendesk, HubSpot and Freshdesk, or be combined with the Intercom helpdesk. The vendor says setup takes under an hour for existing helpdesks.
You teach Fin with your own knowledge sources, guidance on tone, and Procedures that handle multi-step queries with business rules and handoffs. Data Connectors let it read and act in systems such as Shopify, Stripe and Salesforce. Before going live, you can run simulated conversations and keep them in a library to rerun after changes. Fin can be deployed on voice, email, chat, Slack, WhatsApp, SMS, social channels and through an API. Analytics features such as CX Score and Topics Explorer show trends and suggest improvements.
Pricing is outcome-based. Fin costs $0.99 per outcome, with a minimum of 50 outcomes per month on the current-helpdesk option. An outcome is a resolution, a completed Procedure handoff, a disqualification or a self-serve routing, while qualifications cost $9.99. Optional add-ons include Pro from $100 per month (with Operator) and Copilot at $35 per user per month. There is a 14-day trial with no credit card, but no free plan. Billing is in USD only.

- Simulations let you test behavior before going live

Cons
- No free plan; the trial lasts 14 days
- Minimum of 50 outcomes per month on the current-helpdesk option

Our take
Fin suits support teams that want an AI agent working on top of the helpdesk they already use, and that prefer paying per outcome rather than per seat. The pricing page states no setup, integration or platform fees, and you can set alerts and limits on usage. The trade-offs are real, though. There is no free plan beyond the 14-day trial, a minimum of 50 outcomes per month applies, and the final bill depends on how many outcomes occur. Voice needs a sales conversation for pricing, and Copilot is currently only for Salesforce. Small teams with little volume may find the minimum a poor fit. We have not tested the product, and its resolution claims come from the vendor.
