What Pombo does

Pombo is an email platform that covers marketing campaigns, lifecycle sequences and transactional messages in one place, with a single contact list and one authenticated sending domain. It is built around AI agents: you connect an MCP client such as Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT or Codex, and the agent can set up sending, bring over a list, wire product events, draft sequences and fire test emails.

A brand page stores your voice, colours, buttons and font, and Pombo can read them from your website, so generated emails follow the same style. Everything the AI writes arrives as a draft, and the vendor states that every send waits for your approval.

Sequences can start from events posted to the API, and a dry run walks a sample contact through the steps before anything goes out. Transactional templates are sent by key from your backend. Pombo also offers a plain-English question box over your sending data, and a migration route for exports from other tools.

  • MCP server for Claude, Cursor and other agents
  • AI campaign and sequence drafting
  • Brand voice and email style settings
  • Event-triggered sequences with goals
  • Sequence dry-run simulation
  • Transactional email API sent by key
  • Ask your data in plain English
  • Migration of contacts, templates and sequences

Cons

  • Free plan is capped at 1,000 sends per week and shows a Pombo-branded footer
  • Unlimited sending is stated only for paid plans
  • Billing period and annual discount are not stated on the pages
  • Supported platforms are not listed on the official pages

Our take

Pombo suits small product and engineering teams that already work with coding agents and want email handled through the same tools. The free plan is generous enough for evaluating the whole platform on a small list. Teams that want a long-established marketing suite with a published price ladder should check the vendor directly before committing.

Frequently asked questions

Does Pombo have a free plan?

Yes. The homepage describes a free plan with no time limit for up to 1,000 contacts and 1,000 sends per week, with a Pombo-branded footer.

Can an AI agent send emails on its own?

No. The vendor says every send waits for your approval, and generated campaigns and sequences are saved as drafts.

Can I send transactional emails?

Yes. Templates get a key and your backend sends them through the API, or they can be triggered by an event.

Can I move over from another email tool?

The homepage describes an agent-assisted move from exports such as Mailchimp or Klaviyo, bringing contacts with unsubscribes, templates and sequences as drafts.
