ProWritingAid is a writing and editing toolkit aimed mainly at people working on stories and books. It covers planning, drafting, line editing, story-level critique and preparing to publish.

On the planning side, Story Canvas asks guided questions about plot, characters and conflict, and Outline Crafter turns the answers into three example outlines. For drafting, there is a word count tracker, a log of writing sessions and short creative prompts. For editing, it checks grammar, spelling and punctuation, suggests rephrases, and offers 25+ writing analysis reports, plus a custom style guide and custom dictionary. Chapter Critique gives feedback on a chapter, while Plot Analysis, Manuscript Analysis and similar whole-manuscript tools run on purchased Story Credits. Each credit covers one analysis of a manuscript of up to 300,000 words.

There are three plans. Free has daily caps, including 2 runs per line editing report on 500 words of text and 10 Rephrases. Premium costs €30 per month billed monthly, or €10 per month billed yearly (€120). Premium Pro costs €36 per month billed monthly, or €12 per month billed yearly (€144), and adds community features such as live workshops. Lifetime licenses are €399 for Premium and €699 for Premium Pro, as one-time payments. The site states that the product is available only in English.

ProWritingAid suits fiction writers who want planning, line editing and story feedback under one subscription, and who are happy to begin on the free plan. The free tier lets you try Story Canvas and basic checks before paying. The trade-offs are visible on the pricing page: free editing is capped at 500 words per report run, monthly plans cannot be refunded, and whole-manuscript analyses need Story Credits on top of the plan. Plagiarism checks cost extra too. It works only in English, so writers in other languages are not covered. The lifetime options are a large one-off payment compared with the yearly per-month price.
