What TypingMind does

TypingMind is a chat interface that sits on top of AI models. Instead of opening a separate app for each provider, you reach ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and other LLMs from one screen. You bring your own API keys, so model usage is paid for according to what you actually consume. The vendor says your data stays on your device by default.

What you can do depends on the license.

TypingMind is a PWA-compatible web app, so it can be installed on a device and behave like a native app. There is no native Android or iOS app; the vendor suggests adding the site to your home screen. After purchase you also receive an offline static web app for self-hosting.

Pricing combines a free tier with one-time paid licenses. TypingMind.com is free with some basic features, but the free plan does not save chat history and shows a popup every few minutes. Prices exclude API costs and additional cloud storage. A regular license key works on 5 devices, and a 14-day money-back guarantee is listed.

  • Single interface for multiple LLMs
  • Bring your own API keys
  • Offline static web app for self-hosting after purchase

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Reaches ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and other LLMs from one interface
  • Bring-your-own-key setup means you pay only for actual model usage
  • Data stays on your device by default, according to the vendor

Cons

  • License prices do not include API costs or additional cloud storage
  • The free plan does not save chat history and shows popups
  • Key features are gated: parallel chats and MCPs need Premium, document upload and web search need Extended or higher
  • No native Android or iOS app; it is a web app or PWA
  • A license does not include a TypingMind Cloud account

Our take

TypingMind fits people who already pay for API access to several AI providers and want a single place to use them, with their own keys and data kept on the device by default. Check the plan before buying: multi-model parallel chats and unlimited plugins and MCPs are listed only under Premium, and document upload and web search start at Extended. Other trade-offs: API costs and extra cloud storage are not included, a license does not come with a TypingMind Cloud account, and the free plan loses chat history. It is a web app or PWA only.
