A per-GB price comparison of three residential proxy providers at small and large volumes, with the billing rules that change the real cost (expiry, VAT, trials, refunds).
Residential proxies are usually sold by traffic, so the number that matters is the price per GB at the volume you will actually use. That number moves a lot. The same provider can charge twice as much for 1 GB as for 1,000 GB, and some vendors also price by the country of the exit IP. The headline rate is only part of the cost. Check how long purchased traffic stays valid, whether VAT is added on top, whether a trial or refund exists, and whether you must commit to a monthly plan. This page compares three catalog providers that publish residential prices per GB: Proxy-Seller, Decodo and SOAX. For each one it lists the entry price, the lowest self-serve rate, the billing model, expiry rules, trial and refund terms, and rotation options. All figures were copied from the official pricing pages on 2026-10-20 and are shown without conversion or rounding.
Proxy-Seller lists $3.5/GB for 1 GB and $1.45/GB at 1000 GB with no monthly lock-in; Decodo sells single GBs pay-as-you-go and has a 100 MB trial; SOAX plans include several seats and proxy packages. None of the three offers a free plan.
Prices traffic by the country tier of the exit IP, from $5.00/GB (tier 1) to $2.00/GB (tier 3) on the free Sandbox account. Lower rates apply on paid plans.

How to do it
Pick a traffic package
On Proxy-Seller's pricing page, choose Residential and a data volume. The 1 GB test package costs $3.5/GB, and larger packages lower the rate, down to $1.45/GB at 1000 GB. Packages are valid for 30 days, so buy only what you can use in that time.
Pay by card, PayPal or crypto. The vendor states that activation is instant. If the proxies do not work as described, request a replacement or refund within 24 hours.
In the control panel, create a proxy list and set its geo-targeting: country, state, city or ISP. You choose targeting per list, so different projects can use different locations.
Authenticate with a username and password or by IP allowlisting, then add the proxy to your HTTP, HTTPS or SOCKS5 client. The vendor names Scrapy, Puppeteer, Playwright, Selenium and anti-detect browsers as supported.
Proxy-Seller has no free trial for residential proxies. Refunds or replacements are limited to 24 hours after delivery and need the support team to verify the issue. source
Decodo's Pay As You Go sells one GB at a time from a pre-funded Wallet, and it cannot be combined with a monthly subscription. Monthly prices are shown plus VAT. source
SOAX counts traffic in both directions, including partial responses, retries and interrupted connections. Its published prices exclude taxes, and unused credits expire after 60 days on Sandbox or monthly plans. source
On SOAX, the per-GB rate depends on the country of the exit IP. US traffic (tier 1) costs more than traffic through India (tier 2), so a low tier-3 rate does not apply to every target. source
Proxy-Seller states that you are responsible for lawful use, including compliance with each target site's terms and applicable laws. source
Frequently asked questions
How much does the per-GB price drop with volume?
On Decodo's monthly plans, the price is $3.75/GB for 3 GB, $3.5/GB for 10 GB, $3.25/GB for 25 GB, $3/GB for 50 GB and $2.75/GB for 100 GB. Enterprise plans are $2.5/GB for 250 GB and $2/GB for 1000 GB. Pay As You Go is $4/GB.
Can I get residential proxies for about $1.5 per GB?
Proxy-Seller lists $1.5/GB for a 750 GB package and $1.45/GB for 1000 GB. Small packages cost more: $3.5/GB for 1 GB and $2.9/GB for 10 GB.
Are residential proxies for $1 per GB or less available?
On SOAX, yes, but only on high plans and in cheaper country tiers. On Scale ($1,500/mo + VAT), tier 3 traffic costs $0.60/GB and tier 1 costs $1.50/GB. Enterprise ($3,000/mo + VAT) starts from $0.85/GB for tier 1 and $0.35/GB for tier 3.
Can I try residential proxies for free?
Decodo offers a 3-day free trial with 100 MB to new users. Your chosen plan starts automatically when the trial ends, unless you cancel in the Billing section first. Using the trial removes eligibility for the 14-day money-back option.
Do cheap residential proxies rotate?
Proxy-Seller's residential plans include IP rotation. For each proxy list you choose rotation by time interval, rotation on every request, or a sticky IP that stays for the whole task.
What makes affordable residential proxies more expensive than the listed rate?
Check how traffic is counted and when credits expire. SOAX counts data in both directions, including retries and interrupted connections. It adds VAT at checkout, and credits on Sandbox or monthly plans expire 60 days after they are added.
